0Protecting Plants from Frost
5. Newspaper Mulch
Here’s a great way to reuse the Sunday funnies, turn it into mulch. This type of cover is great for seedlings, small ground plants and container plants that aren’t too high out of the soil. Simply cover the plant with the newspaper and even add in some grass clippings or hay if you happen to have any around. It will provide just enough coverage to protect the plant from frost but also composts easily into the soil after its purpose is served.
