24 Eco-Friendly Fall Decorations
Paper Mache Creations
Ready to up your crafty factor while recycling newspaper? Than get ready for a paper mache extravaganza. Paper mache is made with strips of newspaper and paste made from flour and water. Simply add about a cup flour to a bowl and add water by spoonfuls until you get a consistency that works for you. Some like a thicker paste like pancake batter while most prefer a more cream or milk-like consistency. The frame for your design can be made of balloons or masking tape which is then covered with layers of mache. Make sure to let each layer dry to avoid mold growth. Once dried most paper mache designs can be sanded and painted. This is a safe and easy way for children to get in on the decorating fun.
