Our active lifestyles tend to bombard us with the colors, smells, sights and sounds of modern civilization.  And while sensory awareness is indeed important for survival, over stimulation can have negative impacts on our health. In a world where we are constantly on the move, contact with white light and color soon brings serenity into focus.

Most color therapy modalities stress the importance of white light to create a sense of calm, serenity and peace. In ancient Asian cultures, white is considered to be the color of purity, one that encompasses all aspects of life (represented by the various colors of the rainbow) in the human soul.

People and product companies are increasing understand the theraeutic qualities associated with the color, white. Rhona Berg, the former Beauty Editor of the New York Times, and author of Fast Beauty: 1,000 Quick Fixes says that the “soothing appeal of white is showing up in everything from fashion to face masks.” Among other things, she is referring to white tea, a potent antioxidant, white algae, a calcium rich substance in cosmetic ingredients and white crystal therapy which has become a mainstay in jewelry.

Perhaps the most important thing to remember about a produc being white is that you can rest assured that there are are no coloring agents in it. Indeed, purity is ideal for the soul!
