Naturopathic Nutrition: The Best Medicine is Prevention

Part of living a green lifestyle is taking care of yourself first, as you are a part of the earth and all that is in it.  The best way to take care of yourself is to make sure that everything that enters your body is pure and of high nutritional value.  That means cutting back on candy bars, soda, chips, and all the mass produced food stuffs that pollute the earth and that do not add any nourishing value to your body.

A large part of the philosophy of naturopathic medicine is finding food
sensitivities and eliminating foods that cause you problems from your
diet.  Many people have sensitivities to wheat products as well as to
white flours and sugars.  Food colorings and artificial flavors are
other well known culprits, as are milk and dairy products.

Naturopathic doctors usually start by having their patients eliminate
all suspected problem foods from their diet for a few weeks. Then they
gradually reintroduce foods so the real problems can be spotted.  The
problem foods can then be completely eliminated, resulting in better
health and often weight loss as well.  There are many naturopathic
clinics available across the United States, and doctors study for years
in order to practice their speciality effectively.
