05 Uses for Marigolds
2. Bug Repellant
Bugs hate pyrethrins and marigolds are full of them making the golden flower a great pest deterrent. Even some commercial bug repellants include the marigold flower. To make your own bug-be-gone tea, place a hand full of marigolds with their leaves and stems in a blender and fill half way with water. Blend until thin then let this sit overnight. Pour into a spray bottle and mix in a few tablespoons Castile liquid soap and mist any plants with a pest problem. Marigolds may also be planted along side vegetables to help deter pests in the garden.
