Benefits of Home Automation (an Infographic)

Home automation is a great way to help you save on energy costs for your home. There are so many ways that you can automate your home: controlling your air conditioning and heating, adjusting your window coverings and making sure lights are off or on depending on your needs. If you use home automation to control energy consumption, your electric bill can be cut by as much as 15 percent… but it might save you money in other ways too!
With home automation you can open and close your garage door and set the temperature to your liking, and you can even monitor the security of your home. This may save you money too: according to a 2011 study of the 10 largest insurance companies by Electric Security Association the average savings in homeowners’ insurance can be up to 20 percent for homes equipped with a monitored alarm system. In combination with the energy savings of a fully automated home can help defray the cost of an alarm system—and may save you up to $1,352 a year—and in the end, may even pay for itself.
