5 Ways to Keep Warm During a Power Outage

No matter how much you plan, a storm that zaps your power is always quite a surprise. While having an emergency kit with candles, a NOAA weather radio and other essentials is important, you must also know how to keep toasty. Here are 5 ways to keep warm when you lose power.

1. Cover Your Head

Body heat is released through the head so you want to keep your head covered whenever possible. A baseball cap is an okay choice, but beanies are a better option as they keep the warm close to the head and are usually made with an insulating material. You can also use a scarf to wrap around or even throw a blanket over your head if that’s all you have.
