0Where Do Old Computers Go?
Electronic equipment is a major source of hazardous waste, and needs to be disposed of properly to prevent hazardous substances entering the environment. More than two million tons of electronic waste end up in U.S. landfills every year. Many states have electronics recycling programs. Nationally, the National Cristina Foundation accepts gifts of computers to be donated to people with disabilities. Dell Computer also has a recycling and donation program.
