0Green Credit Cards for Travelers
Many travelers find that using credit cards helps them stay safer and manage unexpected expenses away from home.
Credit card providers are on board by offering cards that let you contribute to environmental causes with every purchase.
- Barclay’s bank offers a Breathe card that offers a lower interest rate on train and bus tickets. The card itself is also green, and is made from PETG, which is more environmentally friendly than the PVC used to make most credit cards today.
- Many environmental nonprofits offer “affinity cards” that let you contribute as you shop.
- Working Assets, a phone company with a progressive agenda, has a card that contributes 10 cents per purchase to one of 50 nonprofits.
