The number of ball point pens used on any given day is staggering. Yes, most of these pens last a while, but once they dry out their plastic shell is disposed of, cluttering landfills. Fountain pens aren’t the only reusable pen available, ball point pens, ceramic pens and mechanical pencils are all great choices for decreasing trash in landfills. You can make use of the old pens you have by making garden stakes for labeling your veggies or for holding up new sprouts.
