Wanderlust changes format, adds immersions…and a passport
Wanderlust, the holistic eco-festival that I’ve long dreamed of being a groupie for, has added an immersion experience to its festival lineups. Wanderlust festivals happen in all the coolest places–Whistler, Tahoe, Snowshoe, Tremblant, San Francisco, and Honolulu, among others. Given that Wanderlust is a multi-day festival with great music (I’ve seen Moby, Beats Antique, Michael Franti, Nahko, and this year, Bob Moses is headlining here in Honolulu), yoga (with world class instructors), holistic business talks (I sat front row for Jeff Hollender’s talk in Tahoe two years ago), and spirituality. To put it simply, Wanderlust is my happy place.
Sean Hoess, co-founder and CEO, put it best:
“Wanderlust has always served as a bridge connecting the practice of yoga with the larger lifestyle of yoga, which values community, giving back, adventure, and conscious living.” Amen brother.

This year, in addition to Bob Moses, Elizabeth Gilbert (Eat, Pray Love) will host an immersion on the five necessary emotional components of living a creative life, which she describes as courage, enchantment, permission, persistence and trust. Paul and Kelly from Yogarden will be doing an organic farming immersion (already sold out, sorry folks!).
A few new wrinkles are coming for this year’s festivals. The first day of the festival is now a day of immersive activities. These full day immersion workshops strive to take us deep into a practice, and are guided by experts in the field. I’m eyeballing Blissology EcoKarma, where Eoin Finn will bridge the yoga – reverence for nature gap. It’s a discussion on ecology, then yoga, and then a beach cleanup with a bunch of fellow eco-warriors. Sounds like my tribe.
Check out all of the Wanderlust events (one day and multi) here. This year, they’re selling a Passport, which gives you full access to all events.
The best part of Wanderlust is the people drawn to it. I’ve enjoyed every Wanderlust to the fullest, and have made lifelong friends solidified by the common ground of yoga, mindfulness, sustainability, spirituality, love and friendship. That’s me on the right. 🙂
