Take an Active Vacation this Year

As summer winds down, it is not too early to start thinking about your next vacation. If being active is important to you there are plenty of great destinations around the world to choose from and Fall is a great time to travel as the summer crowds disappear.

Whether it’s an adrenalin pumping adventure that you crave, or just a gently active break packed with fresh air and fun, take a peak this selection of active holidays for some inspiration. Walking, sailing, cycling…. whatever tickles your fancies, now is the time to indulge your inner adventurer.

Plan an active vacation

Plan an active vacation

Do you fancy a family activity holiday in Italy complete with cycling, rafting and riding in a great setting? Or a French Alps activity and yoga holiday that provides relaxation in an adventure sports paradise? It is a good time to travel to Europe right now. Not only is the craziness of Wimbledon and the Tour de France over but the US $ – Euro exchange rate will be in your favor. At least compared to last year.

For a totally different experience, consider a Masai Mara safari holiday in Kenya where you can experience superb wildlife and local tribal life. Or, an active island wildlife adventure in the Galapagos.

Or, if you can’t be bothered to travel too far, consider hiking in America’s National Parks. Wheteher Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, or the Blue Ridge Mountains, there’s certainly plenty to choose from.

Take to the Water

If you would rather set sail from beuatiful coasts to cool off on blue waters, then there are plenty of oceans to choose from.

You can take a sea kayaking holiday in Croatia or in Turkey. Paddle in turquoise seas around the Pearl of the Adriatic or on the turquoise coast.

If being closer to nature is what calms your nerves, then consider a Canada whale watching cruise off the Northern Vancouver island, or a marine conservation holiday in the Seychelles.

Or, if you are a complete novice, then perhaps it’s time that you learned to sail. Sign up for a basic sailing course in the Ionian Sea with AdventureSportsHoliday.com or charter a boat while someone else does the work for you.

On your bike

Biking through the wilderness, or through the world’s cities is a great way to explore new places and take in the landscape. And there is no time like the present to set your wheels in motion. Not to mention the fact that a biking holiday will get you in great shape for the Fall!

  • Take a spectacular mountain biking voyage of discovery in the Atlas Mountains in North Africa.
  • Take a cycling holiday in Kerala, India through the stunning scenery of South India’s backwater canals.
  • Take a leisurely bike or segway tour in Paris, Vienna, San Francisco or Chicago.
