Upcoming Business Conferences Educate on Green Branding

Despite negative world economic news, the business climate is more ready than ever for smart, sustainable brands to pick up steam and take the lead into the future. Even though larger green business issues such as clean tech and green infrastructure have recently been in the news, there is a steady and growing interest in sustainable business that support green brands.

For those of you who are involved in brand management and marketing, here are a couple of exciting conferences coming up on the West Coast:

1. Sustainable Brands ‘09

This is an international event discussing the rapid rise of sustainability as a driver for revenue growth and brand equity in the 21st Century. Hear from some of the deepest thinkers who are paving the way for sustainable brands – from futurist and economics iconoclast Hazel Henderson on Building a Win/Win World, to Mathis Wackernagel (2007 Skoll Award Winner for Social Entrepreneurship) on ecological overshoot. From Dacher Keltner (PhD, Stanford, and author of “Born to Be Good”) on the evolutionary sensibility of altruism, to Tom Szaky (CEO, TerraCycle) on creating profit from trash.

The conference will be held from May 31 – June 4, 2009 at the Monterey Conference Center

2. LOHAS Forum 2009

LOHAS is an acronym for Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability, a market segment focused on health and fitness, the environment, personal development, sustainable living, and social justice.

The LOHAS forum is an annual conference that brings together top-level business leaders from multinational and mid-sized companies, entrepreneurs, as well as celebrities and non-profits to discuss healtha nd wellness products, sustainable business and social consciousness. Hear the experts’ latest trend data from the leading LOHAS market sectors.

The conference will be held from June 17 – 19, 2009 at the St Julien Hotel 7 Spa in Boulder, CO.
