Make sure that the waste bags you buy are ASTM certified! There are so many bags on the market that say \&quot;biodegradable\&quot; on the package, but they only break into pieces. They are required to put stickers on those in CA (saying \&quot;biodegradable except as defined by the state of California), but they do not have to do this in any other state (though last I heard NY was going to institute requirements to use the word \&quot;biodegradable\&quot; as well.</description>

I have written something very similar from the perspective of a reptile owner, but parts would apply to cat and dog owners too.

May I suggest rather than sending any organic waste to a landfill that vermicomposting may be a far better option!</description>
