Give the Gift of Carbon Offsets: Oroeco Partners with Impact Carbon

Rather than giving gifts of stuff this holiday season, why not give the gift of a cleaner climate? Oroeco is a California-based startup that allows users to track and share their carbon footprint, and they’ve partnered with Impact Carbon to help you give meaningful gifts for the holiday, relieve climate pressure AND help those in need.

In communities throughout rural East Africa, the traditional cooking method is an inefficient wood burning stove. Not only does the stove create smoke and ash in the homes of users, which leads to health problems, it also requires a lot of wood for daily cooking needs. The forests and trees are become depleted, and women and children must venture further afield to search for wood- difficult work that is potentially quite dangerous too.

give the gift of cleaner cooking technology and a cleaner climate for us all with Oroeco and Impact Carbon.

Impact Carbon works with partner organizations to build more fuel-efficient stoves, and Oroeco is supporting them in this cause by offering a matching one month gift of carbon credits from Impact Carbon for each Oroeco user for the holiday season, which helps support the cookstove program. As Oroeco users track their carbon usage data, they can make changes to reduce their carbon footprint, and they can purchase carbon offsets to help reduce their impact on the planet too. Oroeco will give your friends and family one month of FREE offsets, equal to whatever quantity of offsets are purchased for their first month, which is a great deal for everyone, especially the planet. Carbon offsets are really the only way to fully eliminate your climate impacts.
