Visit Gorgeous Mt. Everest… via your laptop!

This cool project came to us via the fine folks at NPR’s All Things Considered. The photography of Mt. Everest by David Breashears of GlacierWorks allows us to walk around the world’s largest mountain- and see climate change in action. Not only is this project interesting and beautiful in it’s own right, but the new photographs offer us a glimpse of how the mountain is changing over time- and hopefully inspires climate action.

By pairing the old photographs with the new, we can witness a slow change of the glaciers, rivers, and mountains as they change and the snow and ice patterns change over time. These images, which have a billions of pixels, allow us a view that was previously only available to adventurous trekkers. Check out the links above and get exploring!
