The rise of DIY

Have you noticed how much speed DIY-ig has gained lately? Yes, DIY has been steadily securing its place among the green activities you can engage in to save the planet while having fun creating useful stuff for your home and your loved ones.

And no wonder! Doing something yourself has many a positive side. Contrary to popular belief the main benefit of DIY is not saving money. It is the act of learning, gaining knowledge and new skills, keeping your mind engaged and your hands active. It is one of the best ways to reconnect to your inner self and to find peace and enormous satisfaction with something you created and that you can see in front of you.

What you can do yourself

Nowadays you can find just any DIY tutorial on the Internet for free. What is more, if you don’t have the skills or knowledge, you can find a way to learn by yourself and the help of other free tutorials. Thanks to those who have willingly shared their knowledge for free on the Internet I am now not only knitting happily, but I learned how to crochet and felt, and even make money out of it!

In other words, do not under estimate the power of the DIY!

From the so popular craft tutorials to learning how to make yogurt, you can find it all on the Internet. Here is a list of several popular fields of expertise you can learn more about doing yourself:

There is yet another reason why DIY has gained so much popularity, it is the self-sufficiency it promotes. and the idea that any person can learn to do more than he or she thought was possible.

Now tell us, what is the sphere of life where you most often apply the DIY approach?
